This shot of FWWR conductor Heath Hudson using hand signals to guide the engineer to a smooth coupling on a rainy day won the Trains Magazine / Canon Camera Photo Contest for 2004. The theme was "Railroaders at Work", and the Grand Prize was a Canon 20D digital SLR camera. I used a slow shutter speed on purpose to blur the ground and Heath's right hand waving the engineer on, so as to attract the viewer to the motion and action inherent in this shot.
