Not a Creature Was Stirring

The only thing stirring at FWWR Hodge Yard when I arrived around 4:45pm on Christmas Eve was me. All the units were left running due to the below freezing temperatures. All the personnel had gone home to celebrate the holiday, which is where I should have been if I was sane. At the west end of the engine terminal SD40R 2017 and GP38-3 2002 stood guard against the snow and wind.

The 2017 made a good prop for two more winter photos.

Looking across the parking lot 2GS14B Genset 2013 was shut down when I took this photo, but then automatically fired up one of the engines when it got too cold.

Driving to the east end the two units on this end were SD40-2 2015 and GP38-2 2004.

A burst of snow made for a good close up of the 2004 as my last winter picture for the day.

I did not see anything else moving or parked that was worth a shot on the way home, just more accidents that I safely avoided. All things considered it was pretty successful day for snow pictures in Texas and a rare white Christmas to boot!
