Now it was the turn of the eastbound train at Iona, and as soon as the switch lined itself back for the main and a green signal was displayed out of the siding the engineer wasted no time in pouring on the coal to cover the last few miles into Fort Worth.
Once the majority of the train was on the downhill grade, the engineer switched from power to dynamic braking and the DPU on the rear was singing that familiar whine as it now held the train back instead of pushing on it.
Our merry band of three decided this was a good time to move further west to downtown Aledo.
