Shortly after the passage of the southbound UP cement train on the BNSF at the Trinity River bridges, the southbound BNSF Irving Local came past us on the UP Duncan Sub heading for Purina Junction.
We had to scramble to be in position for the next shot as a southound BNSF loaded coal train crossed over the river before tackling the grade up to Tower 55.
The loaded coal’s two SD70MAC DPU units were screaming in full throttle as they came by a few minutes later.
The radio alerted us to a UP empty Rock train coming down form Tower 55, so we moved one more time to Tower 60 for this last of the light shot of 5 GP60’s.
With the sun slipping away minutes later, it was time to head for dinner and plan for Saturday morning.

As tired as I get sometimes of seeing the drab yellow and gray UP’s units sometimes I must say that last shot of the 5 GP60’s in the setting sun is kinda cool. Maybe its the light or the angle or maybe its seeing regular cab units in charge of a train.
