A Clearer View in the Afternoon

After shooting the ZWSPSTO8 train cross country at East Sais with the mountains in the background, I drove back through Camp Abo and around to the lookout on the new right-of-way that I had used for the morning’s first snow shots.  A half hour later at 12:35pm the SLHACLO2 track train appeared in the distance coming through Sais.

The dispatcher was ready and the BNSF 4802 East did not have to stop at the end of double track at East Sais.  This same view just east of the east switch at Sais was completely obscured by blowing snow only a few hours earlier.  The grade prepared for the second track is plainly in the left foreground.

A minute later I lined up the train as it roared across the western-most bridge.  The new bridge at this location will be built in the foreground to the left of the original bridge.

Next I decided to follow the roads in the foreground doen to the switch at East Sais.
