Passenger Service
I parked over by the south end of the old Santa Fe depot complex and hiked across East Lancaster to the embankment at the west end of the TRE bridge in time to catch train 2925 westbound in perfect light between the Fort Worth ITC and the T&P depot.
This scene of F59PH 568 and three cars is one that I had on my list of lcoations to shoot for quite awhile, but my schedule and the sun and the time of day and the TRE schedule did not all come together until this moment. When I got back to the car I walked around the south end of the building to take the next two pictures. Here is Virginia Railway Investments car 7, the “Kitchi Gammi Club” on the rear of the passenger consist that will be used for the Quanah Flyer the next morning.
A broader view shows all six private cars and five of the six Amfleet cars that will be used for the Quanah Flyer with the Heartland Flyer visible on the left.
I headed home from here, as I needed to be back at the station before 5:30am on Saturday to perform my duties as the official chase car.
