Three Reminders of the Past

After lunch in Bowie things were still backed up on the BNSF Wichita Falls Sub and nothing was close on the UP Duncan Sub, so we decided to photograph the logos on the two railroad bridges over Business 287 on the north side of town.  First we stopped at the old Fort Worth & Denver / Burlington Route overpass.

A few hundred feet to the east is the old Rock Island bridge on the UP Duncan Sub.

A half-mile to the north by accident we came across one more fallen flag in the form of this broken down Cotton Belt road trailer.

The radio did not offer up any more eastbounds out of Wichita Falls, but it did tell us the traffic jam towards Fort Worth was starting to break, so we headed in that direction.

Nice shots Ken! Have you seen the B&O trailer in someone’s backyard over in Millsap? (At least, it was there when I worked in Mineral Wells a couple years ago…)
