First Two Out of the Gate
A short time after I arrived at the Saginaw railfan parking lot, the M of W gang foreman cleared the BNSF 4119 East through his limits on the Wichita Falls Sub, which turned out to be a loaded grain train.
As a long string of BNSF hoppers rolled slowly down towards North Yard, the next train cleared to pass showed up. This time it was the UP 2272 North on the Duncan Sub.
After the UP train had cleared the diamonds heading towards Chico, the rear end of the BNSF 4119 East showed up with DPU’s 4036 and 5175 pushing on the last grain hopper.
Listening to the foreman giving trains permission to pass through his limits made it easy to keep track of things, and more were waiting their turn.
