A Matched Pair
David Hawkins and friends had been at Saginaw for several hours on Sunday April 13th, but had not seen much as M of W had the diamonds shut down for several hours for replacement and repair. I was down in Alvarado, and listening to DS22 I decided I had enough time to arrive there just as the curfew would be lifted and a flurry of traffic would begin. When I got to town and exited Loop 820, a pair of relatively new NRE 3GS21B’s were switching at Saginaw Yard next to Business 287. I quickly pulled over for this sequence of the 1291 and the 1287 shoving a cut of cars.
I had very few shots of BNSF Gensets up to this moment, so I was happy with my choice to come to Saginaw as I drove on up to the railfan parking lot at the diamonds.
