UP 5028 South Part II
I decided to stick with the UP 5028 South on the Midlothian Sub as far as Waxahachie and then start working my way back towards Fort Worth. I was far enough ahead that I checked out this crossing a few miles east of Midlothian, and liked the scenery. I only had to wait a few minutes for the train to catch up to me running around 40 mph.
I jumped in the car and soon took Business 287 into Waxahachie. I managed to get to the diamond where the UP Midlothian Sub crosses the BNSF DFW Sub with about thirty seconds to spare before snapping this picture. The connecting track on the left behind the relay house is used by BNSF trains on their way south to Corsicana.
As the loaded grain cars drummed over the diamond, I zoomed in for a close up of the relay house.
The radio kept me informed there was another southbound UP train and a BNSF behind that on their way out of Fort Worth, so I decided to find good spots around town for them.
