The Best Time of the Day

Did I forget to mention yesterday what was leading the southbound BNSF grain train that brought us together at Tower 55?  A brand new KCSM SD70ACe looking great in the late afternoon low light it emerged into from beneath the interstate overpasses and approached our photo line.

Following the “location” shot with the tower and sign came the “roster” view.

John Briggs and I jumped into my vehicle and followed by Brian Tindle sped down towards the Magnolia Street crossing while Randy headed on to Hemphill Street.  The lights changed in our favor, and we made it in time for me to line up on the approaching train as it accelerated away from Tower 55.

Once more I quickly lined up for a shot of the unit by itself.

Looking at the amount of light we had left, our group opted to try to beat the train to Crowley for one more photo opportunity.
