Railfan Shots From Family Day
While photographing the Family Day scene for the UP, I took a few roster shots purely for my own benefit. First up is the BNSF 6493 leaving the bowl with a transfer run back to Saginaw Yard.
The big SD45-2 looked good in profile as it passed the line of UP power outside the diesel shop.
Not long after the departure of the BNSF 6493, the BNSF 6504 arrived running light on yet another transfer run.
As an eastbound UP freight passed underneath my position on the foot bridge, I saw a familiar flash of scarlet and grey. I kept expecting to see a UP patch somewhere, but this unit appatently still is the SP 8580.
Down opposite the bowl tower I caught three moves. First was a pair of ex-SP B40-8’s.
Next up was the UP 1920 on the east end of the passenger train.
And finally the UP 2646 on the west end of the passenger train.
Tomorrow we’ll see a privately owned set of well maintained amusement park trains.
