In today’s post I thought I would share an excellent website that was brought to my attention recently.  Greg Harrison’s vision is to display abandoned railroad right-of-way’s an equipment, and he is doing a great job.  He asked for permission to use this photo for his section on the now gone Bomber Spur in west Fort Worth that connected the Baird Sub to Carswell Air Force Base, and I easily said yes.

ATSF 500 West HALBA Train Fort Worth TX 07-04-93

The AT&SF 500 West is the HALBA train running on trackage rights to Sweetwater on July 4th in 1993.  For the full story of the history of the Bomber spur and more, check out http://www.abandonedrails.com at the first opportunity!

This is the abandoned ROW by the Ridgmar mall isnt it? I was wondering about that area for the longest time when I stumbled across it a year ago or so.
