Set Out at Cresson
As the FWWR Tolar Turn approached Cresson we drove on ahead and set up for this shot of it arriving in town. We all framed the power between the now-abandoned CTC signals that once protected this junction with the Godley Sub coming in from Cleburne on the right.
Down at the west end Conductor Antoine Preston is on the radio to engineer Bill Payne to pull ahead while Antoine lifts the uncoupling lever between these two cars.
The Tolar Turn has left GP50’s #2009 and #2010 and about thirty cars here in the siding for a Cleburne Job called at 4:00pm to switch Cresson and Cleburne.
Our next shot a few minutes later was of the now reduced westbound train crossing Lake Granbury on a currently grafitti-free bridge.
When the remaining four GP50’s and their train arrive in Tolar south of Granbury, where they will meet an extra job called out of Dublin with three GP38-3’s and a train of their own. The plan is to swap cars at Tolar, and then each crew will return to its starting point with its original power.
