Meeting Our Counterpart

A few miles east of Havre at what I think was Chinook, Montana, I managed a grab shot out the window of Rarus Railroad GP7 #102.  The Rarus was the successor to the old Butte, Anaconda & Pacific south of here off of the old Northern Pacific mainline that is now operated by Montana Rail Link.

Not long afterwards we took the siding at Savoy, MT to meet our opposite, westbound Empire Builder #7.

Next it was the turn of the BNSF 8635 west to take the siding at Survant while we held the main.

When we made our brief stop at Wolf Point, MT there were signs of snow again.

Now darkness began to fall as we moved on steadily eastward.
