A Holiday from Trains
For today’s post on Thanksgiving day, we will take a holiday from train photos in Montana or anywhere else. After leaving the monuments at Marias Pass in yesterday’s blog, we decided to stop at the location where Bear Creek flows into the Flathead River on a journey to the Pacific Ocean. Please enjoy the peace and tranquility we discovered here a few miles east of Essex.
This first view is looking southwest up the river towards the Great Bear Wilderness.
Now we see the rushing waters of Bear Creek with only a few more feet to traverse before spilling into the Flathead River. Can you hear the water splashing over the rocks?
Looking up at the hill to the west across the river, you can see a half moon about to dip below the crest.
Talk about clear water, the Flathead River has it in abundance!
Drawing back we once again see the clarity of the Flathead River and the beauty of the trees beyond.
A visit to the forest can be complicated by rules, but they are designed to either save the woods and the animals, or your life.
Back to the trains tomorrow!
