SP Switchers

It rained here most of the day and the temperature has dropped into the sixties, both of which are welcome.  Taking a dip into the SP time machine slide boxes this evening yielded three EMD yard switcher images.

First up is a pair of SW-8’s that I photographed in San Diego, CA in March of 1971 drilling some cars.

SP 1125 and 1118 San Diego CA 03-71

Secondly we travel back to Dallas on February 3rd in 1973 where we see a NW-2 switching cars at Milller Yard.  Notice the water can for switchmen on the ground on the walkway in front of the engineer.

SP 1335 Dallas TX 02-03-73

Lastly still at Miler Yard but four years later on June 11th in 1977 a pair of Cotton Belt SW-1200’s are resting in the engine terminal between assignments.

CB 2293 and 2251 Dallas TX 06-01-77

I will see what other SP gems I can come up with for Monday’s entry.
