KCS on the FWWR Again on May 27th

Saturday morning brought a call from the FWWR dispatcher that another military train was on the way to head south on the Dublin Sub.  Even though it was largely overcast, I quickly got dressed and made it to Fort Worth Junction just as the new FWWR crew was lining the switch for their passage down from Birds on the BNSF.

I had overlooked this shot yesterday, and I did not make that mistake again as I jumped ahead for this picture of the KCS unit passing over the old AT&SF bridge over Trail Lake Drive, still showing the ”Santa Fe” logo.

A little further south along Old Granbury Road I encountered a sucker hole in the clouds and pulled over for a sunny grab shot.  In retrospect that turned out to not be an advantage as the scene was back lit.

The traffic lights were with me and I made it to Primrose ahead of him for one final shot before heading home to pick up my wife Judy and head for the Gem and Rock Show at the Will Rogers Colliseum.
